User reviews of Adverty highlight its strengths in data connectivity and automation, offering a user-friendly platform with a wide range of pre-built connectors and robust support. Many users praise the platform's ease of use, especially for non-technical users, and appreciate the dedicated onboarding process. However, some users find the tool lacking in advanced reporting and visualization capabilities, and certain aspects of data transformation require coding expertise. Furthermore, users mention challenges with the system's scalability for large datasets and the need for improved documentation. Overall, Adverty emerges as a promising ETL tool, particularly for organizations seeking streamlined data integration and a strong customer support network.

Reviewer technical level: BI Engineering/Analytics
Company use case: Primarily ETL
Review Date: 2023-09-06
Time using platform: 6+ Months
Foundational functionality:
•Straightforward and solid. Large swath of API connectors to work from. Lot's of thoughtful QoL additions that make managing hundreds of connections at the enterprise level fairly straightforward that were overlooked in other platforms we demo'd. Setting up siloed workspaces was simple, authorizing connections was easy, and the platform does a good job of notifying you when there are any authentication issues (which has been a rare occurrence).
Flexibility/Customization:
•Probably the most standout feature of Adverity we noticed in the demo phase was the inclination for flexibility and customization. You can set data extracts without about any refresh window and cadence you want, up until the point you run into the APIs providers' limits themselves. This makes setup much less tedious. Other platforms we trialed often imposed refresh window and cadence limits, which frustrate the datastream config/testing processes.
•You can get the data transformed in about any way you'd need it through Adverity's "enhancements" tools.
•Data previewing and local exporting is great - makes testing and troubleshooting a breeze.
Support:
•What kind of support you'll get is really the single largest source of apprehension when contracting with a new vendor, and I have no shortage of wonderful things to say about the support we've received from Adverity's team.
•Account Support - Our manager Alex does a phenomenal job at staying engaged with company priorities, steps into the technical conversation to escalate when necessary, and has also provided guidance on how to approach stickier technical issues when it's on the Adverity+API Provider side.
•Technical Support - Where Adverity has really shined. Every single technical question or issue we've brought to Adverity and our frontline support Prez, and there have been quite a few, have been answered and addressed promptly. We feel valued and heard by their engineering team when we need things addressed.
Analytics/Visualizations:
•Cannot speak to these functionalities - we primarily use Adverity as an ETL vendor to ingest data to our internal data warehouse for on-prem analytics and reporting.
Documentation:
•There are times that documentation seems lacking for some datas ources or enhancements, or that examples provided are a bit too basic. Adverity has been pretty good about taking feedback on these issues when we provide it though.
Transformations:
•Enhancements, while flexible overhaul, are often not very intuitive, or somewhat cumbersome. It's been the case that we'll have to walk through what we're trying to accomplish with the support team and get their instructions on what to do to accomplish a given transformation. They do tend to just work once set up though.
We considered using our internal Data Engineering team to create and manage connectors to the platforms we use, but ultimately it's proven far more cost-efficient and agile to use a third-party vendor like Adverity to maintain those connections.
Adverity is the best-in-breed solution across functionality and price level for data aggregation and marketing reports. Top-notch and speedy customer service. Hands down the best reporting tool available in market. Adverity is not a nice to have, its a must-have for data-driven marketing professionals.
Nothing! They are constantly updating the interface and improving the functionality for a great user experience.
Marketing attribution, lead progression metrics and performance marketing analysis.
Even a non-technical user can quickly build reliable data pipelines and thus retrieve great data for different business cases and stakeholders. Data automation and cleaning processes are easy to handle. Adverity provide many examples. Super quick support and a great customer success management.
Some APIs are not fully developed or sometimes not up to date (pinterest v3 vs. v5). The support team quickly helps out but it may take a while for the dev-team to develop it. Documentation of supported fields with the original descriptions could be better.
Centralize extract, transfer, load (ETL) processes. Increase the independence of digital marketing teams (less dependend on IT). Reduce development and monitoring cost of IT.
the very easy setup for data connections via API
very easy handeling of scheduling data transfers
Usage of one Year: so far I have no issues expierienced.
zentralizing data from multiple advertising technology tools
Adverity is excellent at all aspects of data visualization (data connection, transformation and visualization).
The learning curve is very steep and takes a good 6-8 weeks of really digging in to understand the system
Our agency needed a single platform that allowed us to connect to various different APIs, standardize and prep the data for visualizations to be shared with various client stakeholders and Adverity is solving this problem for us
-Simplicity
-Efficiency
-No maintenance needed from the user side.
-Lack of freedom with enrichments. (Data processing)
The need for a big team to maintain APIs.
One of the largest challenges for our organization was providing teams with easy and automated access to media performance data from our media execution partners. Adverity makes data access simple. This frees our engineering resources to focus on more challenging problems that differentiate our client offering, as opposed to wasting cycles building and maintaining API connections.
The learning curve for non-technical users can sometimes be steep, depending on the use case, and troubleshooting data processing issues can sometimes be tricky. Though this is understandable given the complexity of the service offering and the amount of data being delivered, and Adverity's support team is top-notch.
We have endless use cases for delivering custom data sets from point A to point B. Adverity has native support for many data sources and destinations, making it our go-to solution for scheduling regular data transfers into our data warehouse or other internal destinations, as well as to many external client and partner destinations.
The simplicity of the interface, from the ETL interface to the visualization interface, is conveniently laid out and requires a trivial amount of time investment to get into. A massive benefit to Adverity is the schema templating on connectors, which effectively pipes in clean and well-organized data, with enrichment customization if columns need to be edited in a short amount of time.
While the visualization tool is powerful and easy to use, I feel there are some limitations to the customization aspect of the visuals in this current iteration of the tool. I think more customizable data tables with more formatting options will be a welcome, albeit necessary, addition to Adverity's Present options.
The biggest problem Adverity is solving is staffing/output. With an understaffed data department and several clients, meeting those deliveries is key to guaranteeing clients' success and offering the benefit of scope readjustment to sell in even more data work.
I like that this platform allows a lot of flexibility as well as great support from the tech team.
Nothing really. It might be daunting for someone new to the platform, but if you spend a few hours per week using it you will become an expert very fast!
Spend as much time as you can during the initial rollout and it will be very easy for you to use the product in the future! Use the great support they provide you too
Mapping different metrics from various APIs, creating more digestible naming for the clients etc.
