A super easy and convenient way of adding a second line for my business. No ads and no need for paying for a second device and opening up a second line of service with my mobile phone carrier.
Nothing at the moment. It took me a little "Getting used to" at first, but from there it's VERY easy to use.
Plum has allowed me to add a second line for my business without having to pay for a second device & opening up a second line of service. One of the main benefits is that each number has a certain function for my business (iPlum line is for customer support | Mobile line is for incoming leads).
It is ad-free. All the other apps like this one I tried were filled with ads.
The only problems I ever had were solved immediately by their support team. Minor glitch but it was an error on my end and not theirs.
I am able to use a 2nd line outside of my other business line. I only need to hold onto one phone and that is perfect for me.
Easy to use, got my number in 3 minutes. Plus $4.99 is a great cost for this. Didn't really know this service existed, but I love the Auto-Attendant as well so I can direct clients to different facets of my business when necessary. Makes my business sound more professional and organized, and saves me a lot of time.
Not much. I definitely wish it was more well known. People are more used to Google Voice, which I think is a mistake.
It's just more business professional than Google Voice or Line2. If you want a second line just for friends, eh. But if you want it for business, clients, and to sound professional at all times, go iPlum.
Efficiency, time management, business communication, client privacy
The ease of use. I find it very easy to use the app and if I ever have a problem they are quick to respond.
Nothing to dislike thus far into using the product.
If you are looking for a second business phone line then this is the choice. They are quick to respond to any issues and are able to solve the issues at that.
I am able to add a 2nd business phone through my already existing phone. I don't need to carry 2 phones anymore, this makes things so much easier.
This is great for any business that has some clients in the system. Easy to transfer information over.
Sometimes the buttons can be to confusing.
Clientele and statistical data.
I like the convenience of the setup and the ability to make calls from the app. The decisive factor was that the price of the number was very affordable, much cheaper compared to what big mobile companies offered. You can buy credits for international calls - as a matter of fact, we make quite a number of international calls. For one-hundredth of a cent per minute, you can go wild and call anyone anywhere! I was also impressed by the quality of customer service. When a member of my team resigned, and I needed to transfer credits from her account, I got lots of help and support from the customer support team even after hours. Bottom line, I'm happy that I'm using this service.
Transferring credits between accounts may be quite difficult. As a matter of fact, I would suggest not even trying to do that on your own and contacting the support center right away.
Having a presentable, reliable, and totally affordable toll-free number. The best part, when you call, even if the call is routed through some local server, the caller ID shows the correct number and your company name.
1) Noticeably better call quality than Google Voice
2) Excellent and fast e-mail support by the developers. Google Voice has terrible support by volunteers from the community.
3) Handles incoming calls much better than Google Voice. My phone rings again.
4) Extremely affordable. Not free like GV, but close.
5) Easy to navigate the clean iOS interface.
6) Activity Reports
7) Fast and easy to port in my Google Voice number. Less than 24 hours.
a) No desktop application. Strickly mobile. iPlum says they may add a desktop solution.
b) Transcription of voice mail to text via SMS or e-Mail is not free. Available but costs more than it is worth for the few messages I receive.
c) Spam blocking is on numbers in the iPlum contacts database. Not on any numbers in your device contacts database. Hard to upload my database of known spammer numbers. I had to enter them one at a time via cut and paste. Does not interface with any third party spam managers like NoMoRobo.
d) Adding a new phone number to an existing contact on my device is not provided in their software. It is only possible to add a new contact. So it requires a bit of cut and paste to get a new number added to an existing contact.
e) The documentation is weak. It took me a bit to find how to add numbers to be blocked. (I had to click on my account number to open more settings). Once I knew the trick to the hidden settings, it was easy. The whole credits system is not well documented.
f) The support team is understaffed and rely on their database of canned boilerplate answers, and send the answer via a no-reply e-mail. Hard to establish a dialong. They do not respond well to criticism of their product or struggling users like me. But they DO respond to every message, even the ones they don't like.
I used Google Voice for 10+ years, primarily for calling back to the U.S. from overseas while traveling.
When it was introduced, it was primarily designed to allow you to share one number with callers that would subsequently ring on multiple devices. It was free. The U.S to U.S. calls were free.
But once GoogleFi appeared, Google Voice became unstable and hard to use.
The voice quality got worse. The phone wouldn't ring anymore on incoming calls. When calls would ring on my computer, there was no presentation onscreen to answer the calls.
There were no preferences to prevent Google Voice from rerouting a U.S. to U.S. call from free to $0.20 a minute.
Google Fi was hostile to iPhones, trying to drive iPhone users insane so we'd switch to Android. There is no provision in Google Fi for WiFi calls on an iPhone.
I wrote an automation script to turn on Airplane Mode to deny Google Voice any cellular voice service to reroute calls in the background. That stopped most of the phantom billing.
But after $100 in charges for calls I didn't make and GoogleFi refused to credit, I had about enough of Google Voice.
Google Voice offers no support other than via community volunteers. Google moved all Google Fi support to India. The support for Google Fi was horrible.
So I went shopping online for a GV replacement. Most of what I found is designed for medium and large businesses with multiple employees. And it starts at $20 a month and goes up from there.
I am retired. I travel a lot. Most of my calls are to friends and businesses in the United States. iPlum turned out to be a perfect choice. Less than $5 per month, and that includes 200 credits. Extra credits cost one penny each. Calls to the U.S. are one credit, one penny, per minute. SMS is one credit.
While there were a few features of Google Voice I had to give up, overall, I am much happier after dumping Google Voice for iPlum. It meets my needs. It JUST WORKS!
Its is easy for for communication and no need to carry two mobiles
All calling are not free. We have to pay extra

iPlum offered us prompt, helpful responses when we had questions. It was easy to setup our main account. The app is easy to navigate.
Nothing, they're great! I would recommend iPlum to any medium-sized business, or larger.
We needed a business number to screen incoming business calls, and make outbound calls, and iPlum does that and more.
